Pushkar is 400 km from Delhi on NH-48 past Jaipur, a comfortable day's drive that lands you in one of the few towns in India built entirely around a single lake. It holds the only significant Brahma temple in the country, and the fifty-two ghats around Pushkar Lake fill at dawn and dusk. The town is small enough to walk end to end in an hour, which is part of its appeal — the bazaar, the ghats and the temples all sit within the same few lanes. Savitri Temple on the hill above is reached by a ropeway or a 45-minute climb, and the view at sunrise covers the whole valley. Ajmer Sharif Dargah is 15 km away and usually combined with the trip.

Sightseeing and road conditions

Sightseeing is subject to the opening days and hours of each monument. We are not responsible if a monument, temple or park is closed on the day of your visit.

In some places the local taxi union does not allow outside vehicles for local sightseeing — in Ladakh, and for Rohtang Pass in Manali. There, the local sightseeing is done in a local taxi, paid separately.

Journey times may be affected by traffic, police or administrative restrictions, VIP movement, processions, strikes or road works, and we are not responsible for delays or itinerary changes caused by them.

In the event of a landslide, flood, heavy snowfall, earthquake or any other natural occurrence that closes a road or a monument, we are not responsible for the resulting delay, detour or cancellation. Any additional running or halt on that account is charged as per actual.
