What is the best time for Char Dham Yatra?
The yatra season runs from late April to early November. May-June and September-October are the most comfortable months. The temples are closed in winter.
Can elderly people do Char Dham Yatra by car?
Yes, with some caveats. The Kedarnath leg requires a 16 km trek (or helicopter). Yamunotri requires a 6 km trek. We plan the itinerary at a slower pace for elderly travellers.
Is a 4x4 vehicle needed for Char Dham?
No. For most of the route, an Innova Crysta or Tempo Traveller is sufficient. We use experienced hill drivers who know the terrain well.
